More ideas to copy!

Looking online for decorating and storage ideas and found these that I really like:

A shoe rack used as a makeup organizer – super cute!

Love these dresser drawer wall shelves!

This idea of wall decoration is super cute – I am sure some thrift store shopping will help me locate similar items!

I would like to copy this type of jewelry holder.

Liking this rustic necklace display – would be easy to make!

Every thrift store I have even been to has TONS of old jewelry boxes I could use for this type of wall shelf.

Painted strainers with battery operated Christmas lights make a neat kitchen decoration!

My Summer of DIY Crafts

Here’s a serving tray from the thrift store that I painted gold.  Then I lined it with wrapping paper from World Market using Modge Podge.

This was an old, brown jewelry box (also from the thrift store) that I painted and distressed.  I covered the glass with the wrapping paper to add some nice color.

This is a coffee mug holder that was brown wood and I painted it gold.  I am using it as a bracelet display.

My version of “faux taxidermy” using a Christmas reindeer ornament from Hobby Lobby.  I painted the head white and left the gold glitter antlers.  Painted a thrift store frame, covered the glass with scrapbook paper and mounted the deer head.

Another thrift store frame and some nice feather plumes from Hobby Lobby for a cool, rustic nature decoration….that my boyfriend can deal with (non-glitter girly decor) 🙂

These are feathers that my boyfriend collected for me.  I painted them, sprinkled them with glitter and made a wall hanging using string and a twig/branch.

More glitter painted feathers (note: don’t use glitter in your kitchen or you will be drinking glitter wine for weeks!)

A dresser drawer I found out by the dumpster in the bulk trash area.  Painted it, lined it with Dollar Tree wrapping paper to use a a wall shelf.

A few pairs of earrings I made using chains and beads from thrift store jewelry that I took apart.

And there you have it – some of the fun ideas I found online to copy.

I hope you enjoyed!

Thanks for looking!

Fabric, glorious fabric!

Just a quick post to share a little something……
I am a beginner when it comes to sewing, but I am
an advanced crafter who is skilled at shopping for the best deals.

Looking at fabric is fun and it inspires me. I have found some great places to search
for and buy fabric online and wanted to share it with you!
Here are 2 of my favorite sites to see some adorable designer fabric: and

True Crime Documentaries

If you are a fan of true crime documentaries, here are some good ones I recently watched:

You have most likely heard of this one – I remember watching when originally aired on HBO in the 90s.

This is the follow-up to the Paradise Lost Trilogy

This one is on Netflix streaming and PBS I think – it is also very upsetting

You can see these episodes on CNN and Netflix – each are riveting stories.

On PBS’s website, you can view over 200 episodes of Frontline – this one was insane

This one is HIGHLY unsettling with very graphic crime scene photos – not for the faint of heart.  It is about guns in the home / guns in the hands of children (and many more tragic stories).  I was in tears throughout the entire movie.  You should be able to stream this on the HBO Documentary web page

Lastly, this is another HBO Documentary with a pretty gruesome crime scene photo in the beginning of the film (beware) but this story is horrendous and made me bawl my eyes out.  It is a domestic violence situation that is hard to watch at times.  It is also released under the name “Every F___ing Day of my Life” that I found on YouTube.

My New Obsession – Mason Jar Salad Lunches!

The Pesto Chicken Antipasto Jar is my ultimate fave!  I make 5 of them on Sunday night and then I don’t have to worry about what to bring to work for lunch!  Tasty!!!!!!

I got the “generic” Mason Jars at The Dollar Tree.  Classicos Basil Pesto in the pasta aisle at your local grocery store is what I coat my chicken with before baking it.

Two thumbs up!
